AIMS Board Members
Richelle Arsenault, MBA, co-owner of AIMS, graduated from Western Illinois University in 1987 with a B.S. in Accounting and earned a Masters in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1992. Her previous experience includes operational auditing for the Air Force Audit Agency, teaching accounting at Wayland Baptist University, and providing accounting services for small businesses. She is currently employed at a private accounting firm in California.
Margaret Avery Moon, BA, NCTMB, (Public) Realtor, has been an entrepreneur since 1982. She co-founded The Desert Institute of the Healing Arts, a dually accredited Massage Therapy and Shiatsu school. She co-founded The Right Touch Massage Therapy in 1984 that is one of the oldest continuing running massage clinics in Tucson. As owner of these businesses, she oversaw the budget, personnel, long term planning, and created policies and procedures. As a school owner, she also developed and maintained the curriculum. She sold The Right Touch Massage Therapy to her partner in 1988 and sold the school in 2005. She also started and ran the massage program at Loew's Ventana Canyon Resort from 1983-1990. She has been a consultant for small businesses, a lecturer and workshop leader, and is now practicing Real Estate working with buyers and sellers.
Deborah Gregory, Ph.D, (Public) has an MBA in Finance from the University of Denver - 1982 and a Ph.D in Finance from the University of Florida - 1987. She is a Lecturer at the University of Arizona, 2002 - present and was a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, 2000. She has had Hospice Training at Casa de la Luz, Tucson, 1997, and is currently completing her IAAP degree at the C.G. Jung Institute in Boston. She is widely published in the areas of research involving international finance.
Alex Holland, M.Ac., L.Ac., co-owner and President of AIMS, is an acupuncturist, educator and composer. He was one of the first graduates of the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle in 1985 and did his clinical training in Chongqing, China. He was the Academic Dean of the Northwest Institute from 1992 to 1996 and former Chair of the Board of Directors. He has worked extensively on the national level with the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine to develop and maintain high quality standards of education in Oriental medicine. He has written numerous articles on Chinese medicine, translated two Chinese texts on point location, and is the author of Voices of Qi -An Introductory Guide to Traditional Chinese Medicine. Alex is currently a faculty member of the Program in Integrative Medicine and a Commissioner for the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Sam Jaszewski, J.D., (Public), has been practicing law for 30 years, 25 at the law firm of Laney & Jaszewki in Tucson. He graduated in 1975 from the University of Minnesota, cum laude, with a B.A. in History and got his Law Degree in 1978 from the University of Arizona. He is a member and fellow of the Arizona State Bar Association. He has been closely associated with the old Pascua Yaqui Tribe, both volunteering his legal services and taking part in tribal rituals. He is also a long-time supporter of acupuncture.
Patrician McCarthy (Public) (http://www.mienshiang.com/) Patrician McCarthy is President and Founder of The Mien Shiang Institute in Santa Monica, California. She established the first Medical Certificate Program in Mien Shiang at Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Los Angeles. Patrician is the first Mien Shiang expert to translate this ancient science for the mainstream American public through her book, The Face Reader, published by Dutton / Penguin. For over 20 years she has taught medical students, alternative health practitioners, lawyers, Olympic athletes and Fortune 500 corporations the powerful implications of facial diagnosis and face reading.
Leslie McGee, MOM, L.Ac., received her bachelor’s degree in nursing, cum laude, from the University of Washington in 1978. She completed a 3-year Masters degree program at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, NM in 1993. Since then she has maintained a private practice in Tucson, Arizona. Areas of further study include TCM gynecology with Bob Flaws, scalp acupuncture with Dr. Ming Qing Zhu, and infertility with Dr. Randine Lewis. Leslie is certified by the NCCAOM in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology. She teaches at the Asian Institute for Medical Studies and for Andrew Weil’s Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. She recently served as President of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and received their Acupuncturist of the Year award in 2007.
Dr. Rubin Naiman (Public) (http://www.drnaiman.com/) is the sleep and dream specialist and clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Arizona's Program in Integrative Medicine directed by Dr. Andrew Weil. Dr. Naiman is the director of sleep programs for the world-renowned Miraval Resort.
Sanford Newmark, M.D. (Public) (http://www.doctornewmark.com/) is a physician with 23 years of experience in pediatrics. He received his medical degree in 1984 from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and three years later completed his residency there in pediatrics. He practiced as a general pediatrician in Tucson for 14 years, with a special interest in Behavioral problems such as ADHD and Autism. He then completed a 2-year fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona under the leadership of Dr. Andrew Weil. He is the first graduate of this program to be in general pediatric practice in the United States. For the last 4 years he has been the Director of the Center for Pediatric Integrative Medicine, a consulting practice for children with a wide variety of medical issues. He also is a faculty member of the Program in Integrative Medicine.
Leslie Romero, L.Ac., co-owner of the Asian Institute of Medical Studies and co-owner of Ancient Ways Acupuncture Clinics in Tucson. She is an acupuncturist, in private practice since 2000, and specializes in women’s health and issues of infertility.
Linda Joy Stone, M.S., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM), co-owner of the Asian Institute, has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture for nearly 20 years. She was trained in both California and Beijing, China. She currently practices at Ancient Ways Acupuncture Clinics, in Tucson, as well as at the University of Arizona Campus Health Sports Medicine Department. She is committed to a heart-centered approach to healing and getting to the core of the matter. She developed Acuphoria© for guests of Canyon Ranch Health Resort and CORE/Akashic Acupuncture© for in-depth soul work.
