AIMS recognized by the IRC!
The Tucson office of the International Rescue Committee has recently recognized AIMS for our outstanding acupuncture and clinical services provided to help IRC clients. Founded in 1933, the IRC is a global leader in emergency relief, rehabilitation, protection of human rights, post-conflict development, resettlement services and advocacy for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression. The IRC is on the ground in 25 countries, providing emergency relief, relocating refugees, and rebuilding lives in the wake of disaster.
In 2006, the IRC and the Asian Institute partnered to provide acupuncture services to displaced persons from all over the world that have resettled in the Tucson area. Since completing our pilot program in late 2006, the IRC is working diligently to secure grant funding in order to continue this worthwhile program.
TCM Research Continues at AIMS
In 2007, AIMS continues to provide acupuncture research services in conjunction with the University of Arizona and the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine through the TMD (temperomandibular joint dysfunction) study. We are very proud to have our community integrally involved in this ongoing project. The project is scheduled to continue for 3 more years.
