For a new TCM school, the Asian Institute has become involved quickly in the field of research. The University of Arizona is located in Tucson, as well as Andrew Weil's Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine (AzCIM). The Institute has solid connections with the University of Arizona Department of Family Medicine such that, through mutual effort, we have collaborated on two NIH funded research projects: Clinical Applications of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the Treatment of TMD and Project Reach, a training program for CAM practitioners to aid in tobacco cessation.

Additional research projects are currently being discussed but nothing is as yet substantiated.
